Bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids?

ok i am having two bridesmaids and a junior bridesmaid. my bridesmaids are wearing a short dress with straps. all i can find in a junior bridesmaid is long dresses that are my colors.. should i have her in a long dress and have my bridesmaids in a short dress would that look tacky? here are the two dresses

is this the girl you babysit? if so she might be able to fit into the 2..can%26#039;t you get it like took in or whatever? probably have to shorten it though!! can%26#039;t wait for your wedding!!
Reply:I don%26#039;t think it would be tacky at all, the JBM dress is wonderful. If anything, if you really want a short dress, get that one and have it hemmed up, an easy job for any seamstress.





Edit: You mean you think the JBM dress wouldn%26#039;t look right hemmed? I think it would still look great, if not better. Plus you don%26#039;t need it hemmed super high, maybe calf length to just below the knee. How old is the JBM? That would change how much the dress should be hemmed. Try this, have your JBM try on the dress, then just roll the fabric up and in. This way you have an idea of what the dress would look like shortened.





Edit2: You could also try to have your JBM try on the BM dress in the smaller sizes. From there, you could see if, with alterations, that dress would work.

will the junior bridesmaid fit in an adult dress? if so, just have her wear the same one as the bridesmaids.
Reply:No, it could work the opposite way, but not the way you show. Plus the bridesmaid dress is pretty informal, so the jr. dress should match that way too.

Reply:I would do all of them similar to that JBM dress. It%26#039;s a gorgeous material and style. The materials between the two dresses look way too different. And no offense, the short dresses kinda look like lingerie, not dresses. The JBM dress is absolutely gorgeous.

Depending on her size, you could buy a 2 and have it altered. You would probably have to alter the neck line to make it less of a V and more appropriate for her. I%26#039;m also not sure how it would hang on a frame that didn%26#039;t have curves. It might look droopy on her.

Another option would be to find a color that complimented the BMs, but wasn%26#039;t the same. Since you are using yellow, you can use yellow for the Jr. Bridesmaid. Might be easier because then you can find any appropriate yellow dress. If that was the case, then I%26#039;d change the flower girls sash to yellow.

Reply:The only problem is that the junior bridesmaid dress is more formal than the bridesmaid dress. I think the bridesmaid dress is a little too informal. I would go with something longer and stick with the junior bridesmaid dress, which is very cute.

Another option is to have her in the same dress as the bridesmaids- this would depend on how old she was as to whether she might be able to fit into a small size.
